March
Winter's manatees may still linger in warm pockets after late fronts, while dolphins remain active on the flats. Migratory birds begin moving through, so the birding heats up.
April
Warming water energizes the whole bay. Rays glide the flats, fish feed actively, and sea turtles become more frequently spotted in the channels as the season turns.
May
Full spring conditions: warm, clear water, lush seagrass and busy mangrove nurseries. Turtle activity climbs toward summer nesting, and dolphins are reliably around.
