Golden Hour: How We Time the Perfect Sunset Sail
There's an art to being in exactly the right spot when the sky ignites.

A great sunset sail isn't luck — it's timing. Our crew has watched thousands of sunsets drop into Florida Bay, and there's genuine craft in putting the Carolina Moon in exactly the right place at exactly the right moment.
Reading the evening
We watch the season, the haze and the cloud cover, because each changes when and where the color peaks. Departure for our sunset champagne cruise is timed so you're settled, toasted and facing the open western horizon as the sun begins its descent — not still motoring out.
The afterglow secret
- The best color often comes after sunset. We linger 15–20 minutes for the afterglow.
- Flat bay water doubles the show. The sky reflects across the glassy surface.
- Clouds aren't the enemy. A few clouds catch fire and make the most dramatic skies.
Bring your camera, but don't forget to look up with your own eyes too. Some skies you just have to be there for.
